“Lost Stone”
A lost stone is any stone that leaves the ice. Knocked off, bad throw, removed by spell, doesn’t matter. A stone is either on the ice, lost, or on a witch mat.
“Lost Shooter”
If your spell refers to the shooter, but the shooter is lost, the spell will not work. Only spells that reference a lost stone can affect lost stones.
“a stone” in spells
Many spells say to do something to “a stone”. It can be any player’s stone, unless it specifies otherwise.
Backstop Board
Place the backstop a bit away from the ice, not wrapped directly around the end. We didn’t realize the factory was going to put the folds in a way that it exactly fits!
“your stones there” in spells
Linguistic ambiguity, sorry! On these spells, there means “stones that are currently there”.
Stacked Stones - Scoring
Stacked stones are both considered to be in the ring that the bottom one is touching.
Stone values
If you’re promoting, stacking, or otherwise moving a stone, keep its value intact. If your spell brings a lost stone back into play, choose its value.
