Serenity. A peaceful farming village, just a week before the annual harvest festival. It was a time before there were many great cities, and tales of monsters were mostly regarded as myth and legend to scare children. But on this day, everything was about to change. A shadow fell over the fields of soon-delicious vegetables, but not from a cloud. An enormous winged beast had come seemingly from nowhere, and now it hovered menacingly. Silence filled the air.

It hungered, but luckily for the villagers, it was satisfied to pluck some livestock in its great talons and swoop away into the afternoon sky. The myths were now reality, the legends no longer far away, and more than just the children were frightened! Worry clouded the celebratory time. Would it not be satiated the next time by a meal of simply farm animals? Something had to be done.
