Chapter 2

Only three days had passed, but the story had quickly spread to nearby settlements, perhaps exaggerated and embellished to a degree. With no further attacks, many of the farmers were hopeful that it was just an isolated unlucky incident. Maybe it was just passing through! Hopefully the monster had retreated to some dark lair, never to return. All they knew for sure is that it had flown Wests, toward the mountains.

A traveler arrived in the village, having heard the tale. She told the village elders that she'd heard (and seen!) similar tales from other towns not too far away, and she promised that she could save the farmers from the looming threat. They were more than happy to give her all the supplies and food she needed, and at dawn of the fourth day, she took the road west. Some expected her to never be seen again, others were more hopeful. All were in awe of her majestic equipment. She truly was a Hero.
